Who is Barbara Torres?

Born and bred New Yorker, raised on the streets of Manhattan, I grew up surrounded by artists and creative energy that shaped the way I see the world.

For over 20 years, I've photographed people and events throughout New York City,  from celebrity charity galas and private celebrations to portraits, weddings, and everything in between. I've had the privilege of working in some of the city's most beautiful venues and photographing incredible clients.

My approach is classic and timeless. No fads, no heavy trends,  just beautiful photography rooted in experience, observation, and human connection.

The greatest compliment I receive is that I bring a sense of calmness to the people I photograph. Whether someone is stepping in front of the camera for the first time or speaking to a room full of guests, I understand that being photographed can feel vulnerable. I pride myself on helping people feel comfortable, confident, and fully themselves.

I love New York and I'm drawn to the energy of people coming together, whether that's a charity gala, a headshot/branding session, a wedding day, a corporate event, or an intimate celebration. My goal is always the same, to create photographs that feel elegant, authentic, and lasting.
